The State would be auctioning 15 million metric tons of iron ore lying at jetties, leases, plots, beneficiary plants and the MPT.
In Monday’s auction 6.22 lakh metric tons of ore lying at jetties and MPT were e-auctioned. This auction that was originally supposed to be held in March was ostensible postponed by the government due to the fall in prices.
The State has already auctioned 1.62 million metric tons of iron ore through two e-auctions.
conducted on February 17 and March 5, realizing approximately Rs 260.68 crore for the exchequer.
Mining associations have been quoted by media as saying that the response was quite average and that the exact number and identity of bidders would be known only on Tuesday.
Iron ore exports generally come to standstill due to water logging at the jetty.
