Orissa native strangulates wife to death

VASCO:  Verna police on Monday arrested Ashok Panchnam Kumar, a 35-year-old Orissa native and a resident of Zorint-Zuarinagar for allegedly murdering his wife. 
The accused surrendered before the police after committing the crime.
Verna PI, Sandesh Chodankar informed that Ashok killed his wife K Bindu (39) by strangulating her to death. 
Upon inquiry, it was learnt that the accused on Sunday midnight woke up and demanded sexual favour from his wife to which she refused. Both had verbal argument and in a fit of anger, the accused strangulated her to death.
PI Chodankar informed that after committing the crime, the accused surrendered at the Birla police outpost. 
He was later taken to Verna Police Station. Verna police rushed to the spot and conducted the inquest panchanama. 
The couple have two children, a 5-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son. Both children have been kept in the custody of the victim’s mother. 
The body has been preserved in the GMC for post-mortem. The accused has been booked under the Section 302 of IPC. Further investigation is on, PI added.
