Over 100 passengers stranded at Dabolim

VASCO: Chaos broke out at Dabolim international airport on Tuesday afternoon when over one hundred passengers learnt their flight to Pune would be delayed for over five hours and were then later informed that it was cancelled.

VASCO: Chaos broke out at Dabolim international airport on Tuesday afternoon when over one hundred passengers learnt their flight to Pune would be delayed for over five hours and were then later informed that it was cancelled. Stranded passengers then confronted the airline staff for not providing prior and correct information about the situation.   
According to the information, Goa- Pune Spice jet flight SG 517 was scheduled to depart from Goa airport at about 2 pm, however due to some technical fault in the aircraft, the Spice jet flight to Goa from Pune could not take off and the aircraft was grounded.  This compelled the spice jet officials at Goa airport to reschedule Goa-Pune flight with the delay of two hours. After two hours when the stranded passengers who were waiting at security hold area, near D gate (passengers waiting area before boarding an aircraft) went to inquire about their flight status, they were told that the flight have been again rescheduled to 6 pm and then at 7.20 pm.
As many of the passengers then started complaining about missing important functions and meetings, they then started confronting the airline staff. The confrontation by the passengers went on for over one hour and finally the passengers got more upset when airline staff informed passengers their flight now has been cancelled and airline would provide hotel accommodation to the stranded passengers  and their flight will now leave Goa airport to Pune on Wednesday afternoon.
When the Herald contacted Spicejet office at Goa airport, the staff present confirmed that there was a big chaos at the airport due to cancellation of flight and they would not like to give any more information as senior officers are busy attending passengers. Attempts were also made to contact the public relation officer at Spice Jet head office in Delhi, however all attempts were futile.
