Over 40 rescued from Dudhsagar Falls after footbridge collapses

Drishti Marine has alerted people not to venture into the Dudhsagar Falls for the next few days due to heavy rains and rising water levels.

PONDA: As many as 40 tourists who were stranded following collapse of a footbridge were rescued by the lifeguards on Friday evening.

The incident occurred when the footbridge collapsed due to rising of water levels at Dudhsagar Falls significantly after heavy rains along the Goa-Karnataka border. This footbridge was used for crossing.

The lifesavers stationed at the waterfall were quick to assist the individuals caught in the ordeal and assisted them to safer grounds. Meanwhile, Drishti Marine has alerted people not to venture into the Dudhsagar Falls for the next few days due to heavy rains and rising water levels.
