Oxygen Co agrees to supply 500 cylinders

Owners give assurance to CM on his visit to Cuncolim Industial Estate

CUNCOLIM: The industrial oxygen producing company at the Cuncolim industrial estate has agreed to supply 500 medical oxygen cylinders to the State government and private hospitals for the use of COVID-19 patients.

The assurance was given by the company owners to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant ‘Babu’ Kavlekar, who along with Cuncolim  MLA Clafacio Dias, councillor Videsh Dessai and the COVID management team visited the Cuncolim Oxygen Plant factory on Sunday and requested the owners to produce medical oxygen for the benefit of COVID patients. 

The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister succeeded in getting additional oxygen cylinders following an assurance by the factory owners.  

In the State, COVID patients are battling for life due to lack of oxygen and to overcome this problem, the Chief Minister has took the initiative to increase the supply of oxygen. 

Sawant, Kavlekar, Dias and the COVID management team inspected the Cuncolim Oxygen Plant Pvt Ltd and reviewed how much oxygen can be produced from the factory for medical use.

The Chief Minister later told media persons that the company has agreed to supply 500 oxygen cylinders per day. The factory will operate in three shifts 24×7. The additional empty cylinders required for refilling will be made available to the Cuncolim oxygen plant by another company, he said.
