Padocem plant workers threaten to strike work

MAYEM, MAY 30 About 35 workers at 40 MLD water treatment plant at Padocem-Sattari have threatened not to attend duty from June 7 if government fails to listen to their demand of pay increment.

About 35 workers at 40 MLD water treatment plant at Padocem-Sattari have threatened not to attend duty from June 7 if government fails to listen to their demand of pay increment.
According to the workers, they have been working since inception of the plant continuously as daily wage workmen.
“We are performing the core job operation at par with other permanent workmen employed by PWD. Our salaries have remained low till date,” claimed the workers.
The workers further informed that they are facing great difficulties and inconvenience at the workplace.
“We have requested the executive engineer to look into our grievances and ensure that we are not denied our basic statutory facilities which includes coverage under provident fund, ESI, holidays, leave, bonus, transport facilities, etc,” stated the workers.
The workers have urged the concerned authority to fulfill their demand by June 7.
