Pajifond road being restored

MARGAO: Officials of the PWD on Friday began work to restore the road leading to the government Junta quarters at Pajifond-Margao, exactly eight days after it was excavated to repair a damaged water pipeline.

The road which was dug up a week ago to carry out repairs on the damaged water pipeline was left unattended causing hardships to the residents. Margao Municipal ward Councillor Raju Naik told the media that he had taken up the road restoration work with the PWD water supply as well as sewerage in the last three days.
“People of government Junta quarters had to face a lot of hardships due to the inordinate delay by the PWD,’ he said, while hoping that the road would be fully restored by the department.
Friday saw Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai inspecting the road work in the presence of the PWD officials. He directed the officials to ensure better coordination between the PWD water supply, sewerage and roads sections.
