PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) State president Adv Amit Palekar, who is one of the intervenors in the Old Goa illegal bungalow matter on Wednesday filed an application seeking that he be allowed to intervene in the matter.
When the application filed by the Corrus Urban Infrastructure LLP, who had already sought an ex-parte stay came up for hearing before the Director of Panchayats (DoP), Adv Palekar filed his application praying that it be allowed and that he wanted to assist the Old Goa village panchayat.

Adv Palekar said that though the appeal is a statutory appeal, the same has huge ramifications on public interest as the subject matter concerns issues of public interest in general and more specifically that of Intervenors.
He further submitted that no prejudice would be caused to the appellant or the respondent in the event the present intervention application is allowed.
The matter has now been posted for the next hearing on June 23.
