Palyekar inspects development works

PONDA: Water Resource Minister Vinod Palyekar on Friday inspected the ongoing development works of lakes and nullahs in Ponda. 
Speaking to the media, Palyekar said that he had planned Rs 9 crore development works in Ponda for the year 2018-19. 
He said, “Water Resource Department will renovate and beautify the Hanuman Tirth Lake in Ponda town. A retaining wall will be constructed to the lake. Already Rs 5 crore works are completed and Rs 4 crore development works are in pipeline.”
He further informed that Rs 40 lakh will be spent on construction of walls of lake at Hanuman Tirth Varkhandem.
Palyekar also visited Zareshwar Temple and the sites in Curti Panchayat where development works are planned. He informed that nullahs would be improved in Kavlem, Curti and Ponda town area.
Palyekar was accompanied by the Chairperson of Ponda Muncipal Council Pradeep Naik, PMC Councillors Venktesh Naik and Vishanath Dalvi, Goa Forward Party leader Rajesh Verenkar, Durgadas Kamat, Sandeep Khandeparkar and Curti Khandepar Sarpanch Santan Fernandes along with Water Resource Department officials.
