PANJIM: The State government has reconstituted the evaluation committee to review the progress in preparation of the Tourism Master Plan and Tourism Policy for the State by KPMG Advisory Services Pvt Ltd. The work on the tourism master plan and policy has been in process for the last few years.
The 11-member committee is headed by Principal Secretary Tourism and has Tourism secretary, Finance additional secretary, chief town planner, GTDC managing director, GCZMA member secretary, GCCI president, TTAG president, chartered accountant Sandeep Bhandare, past TTAG president Francisco Braganza and Tourism marketing expert Larry Malarkar as members.
The committee has to review/evaluate and approve the progress of work as enunciated in the scope of work of the consultant and approve every module as the timeliness fixed and further recommendation to the State government for consideration and acceptance.
The committee has to also hold public consultations, workshops, analyse and review suggestions, view presentation made by the consultant at every stage and lay down its procedures for finalisation of the Master Plan document.
The master planner, a consortium of KPMG, has submitted four modules of draft tourism master plan to the government around two years back.
