PANJIM: Panjim shopkeepers, including Oswald Fernandes and 20 others, have approached the High Court of Bombay at Goa to shift the Carnival procession out of the State’s capital city citing traffic congestion and parking problems which the city is already facing.
However, the HC heard arguments on Thursday and asked the Corporation of the City of Panjim to file a reply by Monday as to how they will ensure and tackle the issues cited in the petition.
Besides parking and congestion in the city, the shopkeepers have also said in the petition that their business is affected due to such events and requested that they be held out of the city limits.
