PANJIM: The Corporation of the City of Panjim will soon have an addition to its fleet of vehicles after the purchase order for a Toyota Innova has been signed Thursday. The Innova is being purchased on priority at the government rate of Rs 10 lakh 87 thousand rupees, according to the order passed by Commissioner Sanjit Rodrigues.
Speaking to media, Mayor Surendra Furtado who is at loggerheads with the government on many issues including sealing of offshore casinos offices in the recent past – has justified the purchase saying his present car is too low and cannot accommodate many persons going for site inspections.
