Panjim: Several MLAs have
questioned whether the Smart City project has contributed to the problems, such
as flooding which has led to the destruction of Panjim. They have called for
the establishment of a house committee to evaluate the Panjim Smart City
project.
Meanwhile Panjim MLA, Atanasio (Babush) Monserrate, empathized
with the people’s difficulties and apologised for the incomplete Smart City
works that have added to their hardships. However, he reassured the public that
the government is actively working to enhance the city’s infrastructure to
prevent flooding. The MLA confidently stated that within the next six months,
all pending work will be completed, ensuring a flood-resistant Panjim.
In response to the issues raised, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant
pointed out that the challenges faced by the Smart City project stem from
interdepartmental issues.
