PANJIM: Amidst rumours that a by-poll candidate had contracted COVID-19, Panjim MLA Atanasio alias Babush Monserrate was rushed to the Goa Medical College (GMC) on Thursday morning, where the doctors informed that he had “suspected vertigo.”
Panjim Mayor Uday Madkaikar and St Cruz MLA Tony Fernandes were with the Panjim MLA in the hospital this morning.
Speaking to media persons, Fernandes rejected rumours of COVID-19 and chest pain or high blood pressure.
“The MLA had giddiness and doctors at GMC suspect vertigo. Please do not believe in rumours of chest pain and COVID, it is all fake,” said Fernandes.
However, he said that there was no information when the Panjim MLA will be discharged.
“You cannot say, his tests are on, but I can only say is that it was minor issue and is stable now,” he said.
Madkaikar also said that there was nothing major.
“It was a minor issue and he is absolutely stable now,” he said.
