PANJIM: North Goa Planning
and Development Authority (NGPDA) will open the
Outline Development Plan (ODP) for Panjim for rectification after the March 6
CCP polls. The ODP drafted in 2008, is
expected to be opened for public inputs by mid-March after the ongoing code of
conduct ends on March 8.
“Since the code of conduct is in place, we cannot
issue a notification to open the Panjim ODP for review. A NGPDA board meeting
will be called post the elections and the date will be finalized to open the
ODP for public suggestions and comments,” NGPDA chairman Michael Lobo told Herald.

Town and Country Planning (TCP)
department in directions issued to NGPDA last year had asked the authority to
open the plan for review. All six ODPs – Mapusa, Taleigao, Panjim, Vasco,
Margao and Ponda – will be reviewed and redrafted.
While the Mapusa ODP review
draft is ready and will be sent for government approval this week, the
finalization of the Taleigao ODP draft has been hit by the election code of
conduct. “Since, part of Taleigao comes under CCP jurisdiction, we are not in
position to finalize the plan,” Lobo said.
