Panjim witnesses moderate to heavy rainfall after 5 days

PANJIM, JULY 1 After a gap of almost five days, the capital city of Panjim witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall measuring 55.8 mm on Thursday. The rains began lashing the city since morning with office goers and school students being at the receiving end. The long queues of vehicles were seen in the city in the morning.

The rains began lashing the city since morning with office goers and school students being at the receiving end. The long queues of vehicles were seen in the city in the morning.
With the rainfall on Thursday, the total rainfall has touched 39 inches mark in the State, which is normal.
Met department officials said that the current is the second spell of monsoons. The monsoon current which was lull for last five days intensified today.
The department is expecting the showers to continue for next 24 hours.
