The much-awaited Graca Costa Poly Clinic and Pathology Laboratory will open on Sunday, and almost 500 people can avail various medical tests on that day. The health centre is a relief for those who would otherwise have to travel to Candolim or Siolim for medical aid. Maria Georgina Souza e Costa donated land for the project, while the work was completed through the Parra Citizens Forum Association. The project cost around Rs 75 lakh. MLA Michael, a resident of Parra said, “The residents of Parra and surrounding areas, especially senior citizens, were facing difficulties in travelling to Siolim or Candolim early in the morning for medical tests. We therefore took a collective decision to set up a health centre at Parra. It is also for the villagers of Arpora-Nagoa, Calangute and Candolim.
