MAPUSA: The Mapusa police detained a 25-year-old youth for damaging ten vehicles parked on the roadside at Canca, Parra, on Saturday.
The youth, who is suspected to be mentally unsound, has been lodged at the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, Bambolim.

The police said the incident took place around 5 pm on Friday when a youth, who is suspected to be mentally unstable, went around damaging parked vehicles using a danda.
Police rushed to the scene of offence and detained the youth at the site before he could cause more damage to other vehicles. Another youth also sustained minor injury during the incident. The owners suffered a loss of Rs 10 lakh, said police.
Mapusa are investigating the case under the supervision of PI Paresh Naik.
