PANJIM: “You will not be taxed,” Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said Wednesday while promising a balanced budget this time around.
“One thing I tell you, you will not be taxed,” Parrikar, told the media. He admitted that though revenue was indeed affected there “was no (financial) problem earlier and there is not problem now. He said that the only difficulty arose because the present government had to honour the financial commitments made by the previous Congress-led government.
The budget, to be presented on March 18, will not have constraints even though the mining crisis is looming large over the state, Parrikar told reporters here.
