PANJIM: BJP’s Goa Unit President Vinay Tendulkar on Tuesday accused former chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar of firing bad words to National President Amit Shah and demanded an apology.
Parsekar had accused the local party unit of not taking him into confidence before inducting Dayanand Sopte, then Congress MLA and his arch rival, into the BJP. Parsekar had raised questions on the morality of the party and state president Vinay Tendulkar.
“Parsekar has left nothing to be discussed about. He has given bad words to our national president Amit Shah, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and me during a phone conversation with me” Tendulkar told media persons.
“I will speak to Parsekar only when he apologizes to me and those whom he has given bad words,” Tendulkar said.
When asked, he said that he had not (not) informed the national president about the incident. “But our National President will get the report about the incident,” he added. Tendulkar said that he has put the entire incident past and is working for strengthening of the organization in Mandrem and Shiroda constituencies which will soon go for by-election.
Earlier HERALD had reported that party is contemplating disciplinary action against Parsekar, final call on which will be taken after consulting Shah. Sopte along with Subhash Shirodkar had joined BJP last week after tendering their resignation as Congress MLAs. The move had not gone down well with Parsekar, who had slammed party State leadership of acting against the ideology.
