MARGAO: Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Sunday expressed concern over the increasing number of suicide cases and made an impassioned plea to the youth to boldly face the challenges of life.

He was speaking at the felicitation program organised by Kshatriya Maratha Yuva Sangathana at the Ravindra Bhavan here on Sunday. “Every year, two lakh youth commit suicides in India. Majority of these suicide cases are relating to either career or love affairs. Youth should boldly face life as it comes. Suicide is not an answer to their problems,” he said.

Underlining the need to build a society free from caste or religious barriers, Parsekar said the society will immensely benefit from social organisations if they take all people together in its journey. In his address, Sanguem MLA Subhash Faldessai also complimented the Kshatriya Maratha Yuva Sanghathana.
