Parsem man booked for attempting to kill family friend

PORVORIM, March 20
A man from Parsem-Pernem has been booked on charges of attempting to kill a family friend.
According Mapusa police, the incident took place as Sagar Sagun Naik from Guirim was proceeding to his residence along with his wife and daughter on his motorcycle around 7 pm on Saturday.
On reaching near the Bodgeshwar temple, the accused, who is the family friend of Sagar Naik, arrived in a car from the opposite direction and stopped Naik.
After alighting from the car, the accused tried to assault Naik on the head but Naik managed to protect his head but sustained injuries to his ear. Onlookers who had gathered at the spot alerted the police.
Mapusa police went to the site and shifted the victim to the Azilo hospital. The accused however managed to escape from the scene. Mapusa Police is investigating the case.
