Parsem youth held for kidnap, rape of minor

Pernem police arrested a youth from Parsem on charges of kidnapping and raping a minor girl of the same village.
According to reports, the incident occurred on May 12, when the girl’s father had lodged a missing complaint with Pernem police, after she was missing from their house.
During investigations, police learnt that the youth had taken the girl to Karwar and later to his aunt’s house at Kurke-Sindhudurg.
The youth was arrested in Vengurla and the girl was later taken to a hospital for a medical check. Medical reports have confirmed that the girl was raped. Police is investigating the case.
