PANJIM: Citing teaching experience of seven continuous years, 69 part-time instructors have come together demanding that the government regularise them. The instructors, appointed for government middle school, to teach art, health and physical education, and work experience education, submitted a letter to the State Project Director on Thursday seeking regularisation.
They also urged the department to withdraw from the Central Government Scheme Samagra Shiksh Abhiyan and merge with the State government to facilitate its smooth functioning.
“Part-time teachers’ contract has been continuously renewed since 2011 and the instructors have completed almost a period of seven years in present service and have at least 4-5 years of teaching experience. We want that the service be regularised,” the letter states.
The instructors have cited how they remain jobless for a quarter of the year, while during their remaining contract period, they work like fulltime teachers.
