MARGAO: Ramesh Gaonkar, a physical education teacher allegedly involved in sexually assaulting a minor school girl is likely to be terminated from service as the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs has moved a file in this connection.
Sports Minister Govind Gaude told the media that his department has already initiated the next course of action and moved a file for the termination of the PE teacher from the service.

A few days ago, close relatives of the girl had informed that the victim feared going back to school and demanded that his services be terminated.
The incident had sent shockwaves through the community when it was revealed that the PE teacher was sexually grooming eight female students at the government school.
He also allegedly oggled at a minor girl during a skipping rope activity at the school.
Police also stated that Gaonkar was accused of forwarding pornographic videos to a minor student thus violating her privacy. The teacher was subsequently suspended and arrested. The statements of several other students and female teachers at the school have been recorded as part of the police investigation.
As informed by the Minister, his department has already moved a file with the government for termination of the concerned teacher, as the accused has a similar record in the past too.
