MARGAO: Francis Xavier Cardozo from Masconi, Cuncolim, died of grievous injuries when he was knocked down by a speeding scooterist here.
Police stated that the alleged accused
Sushant Velip, aged 22, rode his scooter in a rash and negligent manner and knocked down 68-year-old Cardozo near the Chari garage at Demani,Cuncolim when the latter was crossing the road.
PSI Kavita Rawat based on a complaint, registered an offence against Velip from
Subdalim Padi, Quepem, under Section 279 304 of the IPC for causing the death of the pedestrian.
Police stated that the Cardozo fell on the road and sustained head injuries after he was hit by the bike and was shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, at Bambolim, where he passed away while undergoing treatment.
