MARGAO: Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai put the municipal elections in a different perspective by suggesting that the people are the vaccine against the raging political pandemic caused by the BJP. “The first dose is the municipal polls and the second, the forthcoming Assembly elections,” he said
He appealed to the electorate to vote in favour of the GFP supported Fatorda Forward panel saying, “Our vision of a Future Ready Fatorda is a promise of action; we have delivered in the past and we will surely deliver in the future.”
Sardesai urged voters to follow all COVID-19 protocols to ensure a safe and healthy election. Vijai said that the party will distribute masks and assist election volunteers in ensuring that voters abide by COVID-19 protocols, in a gesture of support to this democratic process.
Sardesai claimed that the 13-member Fatorda Forward panel is made up of everyday Goemkars who live and breathe the essence of Fatorda. He said, “Our candidates are common Fatordekars, and are neighbours and friends of the people. They are supported by the residents who trust their hard work and determination.”
Vijai further said, “People must vote for the values that Fatorda Forward candidates uphold—competence, dedication and integrity—which only the Fatorda Forward panel can deliver.” Sardesai has praised his 13-member team as the foundation stone of his unity approach ‘Team Goa.” He said, “Our vision is to deliver determined leadership, consensus solutions and effective governance” highlighting that the “people’s work is my work.”
The GFP Chief said that he is closely following the COVID-19 situation in Fatorda, Margao and Goa. “Just like the first lockdown, the party and our workers and supporters will ensure help and support to all Goemkars irrespective of their background.” Sardesai pointed out that residents must continue to take precautions and follow all COVID-19 protocols. The Fatorda MLA said, “Time and again, we have raised this issue with the CM, but he and the BJP showed no interest, the people cannot rely on this government anymore, and are left to fend for themselves.” Sardesai said that like they did earlier, Goa Forward and the Fatorda Forward panel would provide all necessary help.
Sardesai urged the people to come out to vote and exercise their democratic right. He said, “Goa cannot afford to keep the BJP in power, this is our opportunity to remove the anti-Goan BJP, and bring forward a united Team Goa.”
