MARGAO: The pickup truck drivers have now jumped onto the bandwagon of truck owners demanding relaxation in the implementation of speed governors.
They have written to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar requesting him not to impose any compulsion of fixing speed governors in their vehicles.
In a press release issued, the All Goa Pick-up Drivers Association said that the device governors are very expensive and not affordable for them as many of them have been keeping their vehicles idle since the closure of mining activities in the State.
They also claim that it is not physically viable for their vehicles to fix/speed governors devices as “our vehicle are old and can’t cope up with new technology.”
