CALANGUTE: Calangute Police arrested a 28-year-old pimp from Delhi and rescued two women from Uzbekistan in connection with the prostitution racket at Gaura Vaddo, Calangute, late Tuesday evening.
According to Calangute Police, acting on a tip-off, the Calangute Police team led by PI Nolasco Raposo arrested Kuldip Tomar (28) for his alleged involvement in the prostitution racket. The deal for the both the women was finalized at Rs 10,000 each by Tomar.
Police further informed that the raid was carried out in the presence of NGO representatives. Police is also on lookout for another person involved in the case.
The rescued women were lodged at Protective Home at Merces after obtaining order from SDM Mapusa for their safety and protection.
Calangute Police arrested Tomar under Sections 4, 5 and 7 of Immoral Trade (Prevention) Act 1956. PI Nolasco Raposo is investigating the case.
