In his complaint to the Chief Secretary, R K Srivastava, Raia resident, John Ferrao, has alleged that Maina-Curtorim PI Harish Madkaikar has been shielding one Neves Vas, allegedly involved in the theft of petroleum products.
Accusing him of taking ‘hafta,’ Ferrao further alleged that the PI has been harassing his family for filing complaints against Vaz.
“PI Madkaikar has underhand dealing with the culprit Vaz, who is involved in illegal business of theft of petroleum products near his house. In order to get police protection for his illegal business, he pays regular hafta to the PI,” the complaint copy reads.
The complainant has also alleged that Vaz assaulted his family members a number of times in the recent past. “Due to several attacks by Vaz and his family, my daughter is in coma since last four years… The PI instead of arresting Vaz and his family for using weapons to attack my family, is charging us. My family members are booked and arrested.”
The aggrieved local has urged the government to initiate inquiry into the matter and suspend the police officer.
