Excise officials raid premises at Aquem
MARGAO:
Margao flying  squad and excise officials  raided a premises near the power house at Aquem this evening  following information that liquor is stored for distribution. After inquiry, Excise Superintendent Milagres Soares told newsmen  that they found 62 cartons of beer stored inside the premises, but hastened to add that the owner was in possession of permit to store 75 cartons. “The premises, which was raided had the license for the retail sale of liquor. The owner was also  in possession of the required permit to store 75 cartons. The goods found were not in excess of the permit”, Soares
said, adding there’s nothing illegal on the storage of the beer cartons. However, flying squad chairman and deputy collector,
Dasharath Redkar has called for the file in respect of the raid and the permits and licenses issued to the owner.
