The Colva police has cracked a whip against tourist taxi operators from Varca in connection with Friday morning incident of stopping a coach which came to collect guests from a starred hotel at Fatrade.
The police has registered a case against one Oliver Fernandes and 15-20 unknown tourist taxi operators for unlawful assembly and restraining from coach belonging to Sita tours.
The case has been registered following a complaint lodged by Sita representative Saira Vaz with the Colva police stating that the coach driven by John Fernandes was stopped by the taxi operators this morning at Fatrade.
The incident is believed to have taken place at around 8.15 am and the matter is being investigated by the Colva police.
The incident comes a day after a foreign rep was stopped by the tourist taxi operators after she came to a starred hotel to collect guests after parking her vehicle near the beach.
The Ramada Tourist taxi operators have contended the lady rep had been involved in illegal business without any registration with any government department, but the government agencies are dragging their feet to reign in on the foreign rep.
