Police forcibly shut Ponda Market, voluntary lockdown evokes mixed response

PONDA: Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) and the Businessman Professional forum had appealed voluntary lockdown however it failed as very early morning there was witnessed huge rush at Ponda fish and vegetable market and police were seen forcibly shutting down the fish market.

Goa Bagayatdar Bazaar too witnessed people piling up to buy groceries and other goods. Except that most of shop owners in Ponda observes voluntary lockdown. Most of hotels remained closed except few who had kept started take away service at Varkhandem near Maruthi Temple.
