VASCO: While the Vasco School has been closed from Tuesday to Saturday following the sexual assault on the 7-year-old schoolgirl in the school toilet, the entire teaching and non-teaching staff is being interrogated by police investigating the incident.
This came to light on Thursday when parents expressed anger over the failure of the teachers to attend the meeting with the school management and PTA in the school on Thursday. The angry parents insisted that the teachers should have had the decency to attend the meeting, following the incident which has shocked the State.
An official of the school management then informed the parents that the teachers had no intention to avoid the meeting. “The teaching and non-teaching staff could not attend the meeting as they were summoned at the police station since Wednesday morning to record their statements and they were also asked to be present to complete police formalities,” the official said.
The official informed the parents that the school would reopen on Monday, but added that classes for Std X and XII would commence from Friday.
