PANJIM: A team of Panjim police is enroute to Mumbai to locate the whereabouts of a woman, who is said to have been running a high-profile escort services in Goa.
The woman has been on the police radar since the day Panjim police busted a prostitution racket with the arrest of a pimp and rescued a struggling Bollywood actress from a starred hotel on June 2.
Sources said the unidentified woman’s role had surfaced during the interrogation of pimp Ayesha Sayyad, who is now on bail.
“We have managed to get some details through call records of the accused and the victim. The main racketeer is operating a larger network in several states sitting in Mumbai,” said an official.
It has been learnt that several girls, even those hailing from well to do families are lured into the illicit trade by the yet-to-be-arrested accused. Many girls are especially flown to destinations decided either by the customer or the woman herself.
