Police plaint filed against asst professor

PANJIM: A Ponda resident has filed a complaint with Goa Police against an assistant professor of a law college for posting hate comments on her social media account. 

Rajiv Jha, a resident of Usgao-Ponda has alleged that the teacher, through her personal Facebook account has been posting controversial comments to hurt religious sentiments. 

“She has a habit of posting controversial post on social media time and again attacking Hindu religion and its culture and tradition… That the said women (woman) is of an obnoxious personality who disguises her lack of manners under the guise of humour and personal freedom of expression and leaves no opportunity under the disguise of freedom of speech to disrespect and spread hatred against Hindu religion,” reads an extract of  two-page complaint copy to Cyber Crime Cell and Panjim Police. 

The complainant has sought the police to register a case under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act. Herald spoke to a senior police officer who claimed they are inquiring into the complaint.
