PONDA: Mukesh Hector, resident of Nilgiri Colony, Dhavali was booked by the Ponda Police for riding his bike in a rash and negligent manner which led to the death of a teenaged college girl on Wednesday.
It may be recalled that Shreya Kotharkar, an 18-year-old college student, resident of Tisk Valley, Usgao was travelling pillion on a two-wheeler that was being ridden by Frazer Dais, 18, when the oncoming motorcyclist Hector proceeding towards Ponda from Borim changed direction, took a right turn and suddenly stopped mid-way on the road leading to the Nilgiri Colony.
Dias tried hard to apply his brakes but failed to do so and the two bikes collided against each other and Kotkarkar was flung on the road with the impact and sustained serious injuries resulting in her death. Ponda Police stated that Hector has been booked for driving his Hero Honda in a rash and negligent manner thereby leading to the death of the teenager and an offence under Section 279, 337, 304-A IPC has been registered against the accused.
