Body of the retired teacher Albert Loius who was shot dead at his rented house on August 3 was found partially nude, said the Home Minister Ravi Naik in his statement Thursday.
The statement was in reply to a calling attention motion tabled by BJP legislator Francis D’Souza on the floor of the House of the Legislative Assembly.
“The front door of the house was partly open and the deceased was lying without clothes on lower half of the body with only a banyan (vest) on his person. A packet of condom was found on the bed with one of the condom removed from the sachet and seen lying on the floor near the bed…” Chief Minister Digambar Kamat read out the statement copy for Home Minister Ravi Naik, who attended the Legislative Assembly for the first time after hospital discharge on Thursday.
Though the police are yet to crack down on the culprit(s), the minister said that police are making serious efforts to detect the case.
A native of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, 70-year-old Louis was shot dead at his rented house in the broad daylight on August 3. The body was first discovered by his 17-year-old daughter Rashmi who resided with her father for two and half years to three years in the same premise.
Earlier, the motion moved by the Mapusa MLA also included on the “anxiety in the minds of people of Mapusa in respect to deteriorating law and order situation and casual attitude of the police in the investigation” on theft at Laxminarayan temple, series of shop breaking, gunning down Albert Louis and Khawtankar attack.
