Police team sent to K’taka for investigation

MARGAO: A Maina-Curtorim police team has been dispatched to Karnataka in connection with the investigation of the murder of Kanhaiya Kumar Mondal, a 32-year-old labourer, whose body was discovered in Loutolim last month.

Initially believed to be a hit-and-run case, multiple stab injuries on the victim’s body led police to re-classify it as a murder. The police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC for murder, as well as Sections 279 and 304A for rash and negligent driving.
