PANJIM: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Vimal Anand Gupta said that with the police going cashless, it will be an end to any existing corruption.
“No cash transactions means no corruption,” Gupta said, announcing that from January 2017 Goa Police will implement a cashless system.
Speaking to reporters, Gupta said that the implementation will start from January with Traffic department on the priority list.
“All the cash transaction points in the department and in traffic would be connected to a central online account and with swiping machines the public will be able to pay the challan and various fees,” Gupta said.
He said that two banks have already started a training programs at the police head quarters in Panjim. “We will be giving training to the entire police force to how to use the cashless system and how to use swiping machines for official purposes,” Gupta said.
In a short time the department will adopt systems to go cashless Gupta said and added that even if there is any corruption at any level, the cashless system will improve and control the intensity of it.
