‘Political stability in Goa a welcome sign’

PANJIM: The Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Thursday said that political stability in Goa is a welcome sign for a State which has witnessed incessant political instability in the past.

“I am very happy to see that after a long time Goa has managed to get a stable government, which I am confident would last for five years,” Mahajan said, while addressing the ongoing 5th India Region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) conference, 2015, in Goa, Thursday morning.
“We senior political colleagues used to always joke and wonder whether any government in Goa would last for five years. The MLAs, ministers used to switch over as per their ideologies,” she said in the presence of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and his other BJP and MGP cabinet colleagues, who are attending the two-day conference that ends Friday.
