The parade will be flagged off by Industries Minister Mahadev Naik, South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamlatdar and Chairperson Radhika Naik. It will culminate at the Aguiar ground and will be followed by a belly dance show and a musical show.
The prizes for the floats will be distributed in five categories. For floats in the Traditional Category, the first five prizes are Rs 75,000, Rs 60,000, Rs 45,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000, plus five consolation prizes of Rs 5,000 each.
In the Club and Institutions Category, the first five prizes are Rs 50,000, Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 12,000, plus five consolation prizes of Rs 4,000 each.
Fun Junk Category: Rs 20,000, Rs 18,000, Rs 10,000, Rs 8,000 and Rs 5,000, plus five consolation prizes of Rs 1,500 each.
In the Family Category, the prizes are Rs 20,000, Rs 18,000, Rs 10,000, Rs 8,000, and Rs 5,000, plus five consolation prizes of Rs 1,500 each.
In the Clown and Joker Category, the prizes are: Rs 12,000, Rs 9,000, Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000, and Rs 3,000, plus five consolation prizes of Rs 1,000 each.
The committee has also decide to create two categories for children: junior (5-10 years) and senior (11 and up).
