PONDA: Speed breakers at three underpasses on the bypass highway located at Dhavali, Kapileshwarim, and Kashimutt junctions have disappeared following recent hotmix carpeting. These speed breakers previously controlled traffic from various directions at the underpasses. In their absence, vehicles on the service roads suddenly approach the village main road, increasing the chances of accidents.
Locals are demanding the reinstatement of speed breakers to prevent accidents at these junctions. According to residents, the Dhavalim-Farmagudi bypass highway was recently hotmixed, including the service roads and underpasses. However, the speed breakers on both sides of the underpasses were removed during the process.
The speed breakers were beneficial for locals as they helped control traffic smoothly and safely. The community is now urging authorities to reinstall the speed breakers to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
