Ponda, September 6, 2026: The Serials Chess Club successfully conducted two chess tournaments simultaneously on September 5 and 6 at Saad Market Plaza, Upper Market, Ponda, attracting a total of 190 participants.
The 7th Serials Classical Chess Tournament was organised for FIDE-rated players, while the 8th Serials Rapid Chess Tournament was held for unrated players. The two-day event saw enthusiastic participation from chess players across both categories.

In the rated category, Vihaan Tari emerged as the champion, with Rejmon Fernandes finishing second and Advaith Prasanna securing third place.
In the unrated category, Silas Fernandez claimed the top spot, followed by Kanish Sudhir in second place and Aditya Amit in third.
The tournaments were attended by Chief Guest CM Niraj Saripalli. The events were conducted with the support of FA Tanishq Kavlekar, Chief Arbiter for the Unrated Section, and FA Anushka Naik, Chief Arbiter for the Rated Section. Michael Ferrao, SNA Abhishesh Prabhu Dessai and Deepali Manerikar also contributed to the smooth conduct of the tournaments.
Serials Chess Club expressed special gratitude to the parents of Serials Chess Academy students for their valuable support and contribution towards the successful organisation of the events.
The club congratulated all the winners and participants and thanked everyone involved in making the simultaneous tournaments a successful two-day chess event.
