Port town reports four COVID deaths

VASCO: The port town of Vasco on Tuesday recorded four deaths reportedly due to COVID-19 infection. The deceased are from the age group of 60 to 75 and reportedly had co-morbid conditions, states the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) media bulletin. As per the information mentioned in the DHS media bulletin on Tuesday, one 72-year-old male from Headland Sada, 68-year-old male from Mestawada and 65-year-old male from Baina were undergoing treatment at COVID ESI Hospital, Margao. 

All were reportedly had co-morbid conditions and were COVID positive. One more, 73-year-old male from Headland Sada, who was admitted at Goa Medical College and Hospital with co-morbid conditions, succumbed to COVID infection. 

As per reliable source, the deceased from Mestawada was a famous personality in the field of music. He was an organ player and was pioneer in forming the first orchestra band in late 70s in Goa. The deceased was not keeping well for many years and was admitted in the ESI Hospital a month ago. Eight of his family members, a joint family, where he lived were also admitted for treatment. Surprisingly, all his family members recovered and returned back. 

A source revealed that the deceased’s daughter who had also tested positive for COVID infection recovered and was taking care of the deceased. On Monday, after the deceased’s condition deteriorated he had been kept on a ventilator and on Tuesday he breathed his last.
