Vasco MLA Krishna ‘Daji’ Salkar said that the motorists and citizens may have to face a temporary inconvenience for a long term permanent solution and better infrastructure to decongest the port town. He said that there will be no parking problem as small cars will be diverted on the Swatantra Path while, the heavy vehicles to and from the Mormugao Port will use the four-lane flyover.

The Up Ramp will consist of columns and six-metre wide road on either side of the ramp to ease the movement of vehicles and to decongest the town. He said that the movement of heavy vehicles in the city will stop after the completion of the Up Ramp and port connectivity and it will be a permanent solution in the town. The Up Ramp will be the third access in the town, Salkar said.
