A portion of the Old Hospicio building’s slab collapsed, shattering a window on Wednesday morning. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported. “Immunizations were going on when the part of the slab from the old building collapsed, immediately as a precautionary measure, we shifted the people to the other premise. Thankfully no one was injured,” said Dr. Amita Lotlekar.
The structure exhibits cracks, with visibly rusted and exposed elements raising concerns of potential collapse. Savio Coutinho stated, “People were shifted after the Urban Health Centre collapsed, and now this building is on the verge of collapse. Even after the tender is finalised for 14 lakhs, the govt. hasn’t accepted it.”
