PORVORIM: The electricity department has decided to tackle the problem of frequent power disruptions in Porvorim by laying insulated overhead cables in Porvorim, while also bifurcating the power line from the Porvorim power sub-station to River Navigation Department workshop at Betim.
It may be recalled that Porvorim witnessed frequent power disruptions during the monsoon. Power outages were caused due to falling of trees and branches on electricity distribution lines and poles due to gusty winds.
In a bid to reduce power disruptions, the electricity department plans to lay insulated overhead cable (aerial bunch cable) in areas like Journalist Colony, Housing Board, etc,” informed the source,
