Requests govt to approve the people’s plan as prepared by stakeholders

CHINCHINIM: The Chinchinim-Deussua village panchayat has urged the State government to postpone the scheduled public hearing of the draft Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) convened by the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) on July 8 at the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) grounds, Margao.

A special meeting led by the Chinchinim-Deussua sarpanch Inacina Rebello “resolved to request the government to postpone the public hearing as the proper procedure was not followed by the department of deputing an official at the panchayat level to explain the plan.”

 It was further resolved to request the government to approve the people’s plan as prepared by the stakeholders.”

The villagers were also urged to participate in the public hearing in large numbers and to oppose the faulty plan, sarpanch Inacina said.
