MARGAO: Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has provided assurances to the residents of all villages within the Benaulim constituency that the power issues they’ve been facing will soon be resolved. He announced that by December 2023, a series of power infrastructure projects totalling Rs 35 crore will be completed to address these concerns.
The Minister was speaking at the inauguration of Renovation & Improvement of Overhead LT Network of Benaulim where MLA Venzy Viegas and the high-ranking officials of the Electricity Department were also present.
Dhavalikar added that two more tenders for further upgradation of existing infra worth Rs 11 crore each will be issued in the next 10 days. He added that there are plans regarding underground cabling for the ST 11 KV and 33 KV lines but that they have initiated the LT line project to provide the locals relief from power woes. The Minister also claimed that changing of equipment like conductors, which had not been done in decades, is finally being taken up now.
